GENERAL SUMMARY Works with general supervision of the Structured Cabling Director of Cabling, or other designated position to install structured cabling systems and equipment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/KNOWLEDGE - Assists co-workers with installation and routine maintenance of structured cabling systems - Removes and rearranges equipment at on-site locations - Tests, adjusts and troubleshoots equipment - Provides appropriate customer service when responding to a customer request or fulfilling project requirements - Handles orders, paperwork and transports materials to work-site JOB SPECIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED - High school diploma or GED - 1-2 years in related field - 1-2 years experience installing and servicing Cat 5, 5e, 6 and fiber optics, knowledge of TIA/EIA standards or BICSI certified preferred - 1 year performing equipment troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance for structured cabling systems.
