Sr Software Engineer - Intrustion Prevention & Detection / Firewall
Hands-on developer role focused on building IDS/IPS (Firewall) for carrier class netwokring solution Sr. Software Engineer - Security Team IDS & Firewall Development San Jose, CA Be a part of an exciting new team that is delivering on Redback's vision of next-generation broadband and managed enterprise services.
In this role you will work with Product Management in helping define the enhanced service set, conceive and brainstorm service delivery ideas, and design and develop software on SmartEdge, the industry leading Multi-Service Edge Router.
Our award winning products help service providers build broadband networks that can deliver triple play services like: IPTV, Video on Demand, Multimedia Networking, etc. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for delivering enhanced services with a focus on security.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience implementing security functions such as NAT, Stateful Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and Application Level Gateways on carrier class platforms.
Additionally, a passion for challenging work and a keen sense of pride in building something from ground-up will go a long way in making you the ideal candidate.
Knowledge of related protocols and VPN technologies is a plus.
Skills Required: Development experience, and domain knowledge, with Firewalls, NAT, and application layer gateways - ALG's Software development experience in Intrusion Detection & Prevention projects Experience in URL filtering a plus Strong understanding of TCP/IP and networking in general Knowledge of application protocols such as HTTP, SMTP, IMAP, POP3, FTP a plus Excellent C and multi-threaded programming a must Strong debugging skills Working knowledge of UNIX like kernels B.
