Business case-market requirements-competitive analysis-feature content of Danger product lines SR. PRODUCT MANAGER, HARDWARE The Sr. Product Manager will have overall responsibility for the business case, market requirements, competitive analysis, and feature content of a Danger product line.

This position will be responsible for Danger's hardware reference designs, hardware-related technology roadmap, and interfacing with our OEM's to ensure that devices based on these reference designs provide the proper hiptop experience, and are successful in the market.

Responsibilities The Sr. Product Manager will be working in a highly visible and cross-functional role across the organization.

Responsibilities will include but not necessarily be limited to: Product Strategy: Develop, articulate and evangelize the strategy for the product line.

Must be able to develop product plans that balance both the long- and short-term needs of the company and the product line, particularly considering innovation, revenue, margin, and marketability needs.

Product Roadmap: Develop and maintain the detailed multi-year product roadmap for the product line.

This roadmap will include committed, planned and potential features for the Service Delivery Engine (SDE).

The roadmap will be the guiding document for product development at Danger.

The roadmap will take into account the needs of consumers, the requirements of carriers, the dynamics of the wireless market and wireless technology, Danger innovation and the competitive forces at work in the market.

Product Definition: Lead the effort to articulate specific product and feature requirements through PRDs, product specifications and other tools.

Ensure engineering, marketing and sales fully understand the features being considered for development and that are under development at Danger.

Ensure target carrier customers, target end user market segments and product positioning are addressed in the product planning and definition effort.

Pricing and Product Profitability: Develop and maintain a pricing list for the product line.

Work with the finance department to ensure product pricing supports product line profitability and business plan goals.

Support the sales force with customized pricing proposals as necessary.

Market & Competitive Analysis: Work with Product Marketing to monitor the market forces and state of competition that are pertinent to your product line.

Use this information to appropriately set product strategy.

Become the expert on market and competitive matters related to your product line that others at Danger consult with when questions come up in these related fields.

Sales Support: Support the sales force with sales material, product roadmap and custom proposals as required to achieve the business plan.

Also, accompany sales staff on carrier sales calls as needed.

Product Communication: Help communicate product information throughout the company and to customers and the industry.

This includes providing product training, documentation and demonstrations for sales, customer support, marketing, and business development.

Participate in trade shows and industry events.

Qualifications Ability to interact effectively & professionally with a variety of contacts, both internal & external.

Ability to drive projects and programs to successful completion using diplomacy to encourage teamwork and buy-in to meet product needs and milestones.

Ability to remain flexible, adaptable, and open to dynamic change.

High-degree of credibility, integrity and ability to portray a positive image/perception of Danger, Inc. to external communities/audience.

Excellent attention to detail and process/procedures.

Outstanding English verbal and written communication skills At least 5 years of experience in product management or marketing, with recent experience at a company selling network-based products and services to wireless operators worldwide Four-year degree, preferably in business development, marketing or engineering.

MBA preferred.
