Manager Global Program Management
Manage IT projects and initiatives - project management training and education Position: Manager Global Program Management Location: Alameda CA http://www.utstar.com Overview: The Global PMO Manager manages IT projects portfolio and initiatives that are successful and aligned with IT and corporate objectives through governance structure, process, controls and communication.
Project management (PM) training and education to promote process improvement.
Reporting to Senior Director Information Management, Strategy, PMO. Job Description: PMO Process Compliance Maintain, update, and promote the SDLC methodology Ensure adherence to enterprise policy, process, procedure, and best practices for Project Management and Software Development.
Enhance core PM by training and supporting Global IT project managers in effective practices to ensure they deliver on time, on budget projects with high customer satisfaction.
Project Portfolio and Landing Map Responsible for PMO meetings with CIO staff for new project approval decisions and change requests with check point reviews based on project importance, risk, and go-live dates.
Generate biweekly project scorecard and metrics, status summary reports noting project risks and go-live changes Conduct quarterly demand planning process and reviews that prevent resource conflicts.
IT Project Landing Map (In Progress, New, and Backlog) that balances proposed IT projects and improves capacity to deliver.
Track project benefits after go live to evaluate cost benefits Project Mentoring and Process Improvement PM coach, mentor, advisor with issues project risks, quality, communication, execution Develop and maintain strategies for implementation, improvement of processes from metrics and management input Knowledge management process for our projects Requirements: Currently in Bay Area CA 8+ years program management - IT, Professional Services, or Software Development Understand complex IT organizations (infrastructure, application development, and support) and corporations Direct experience of systems implementation and development projects Effective with people and interact well with management and teams.
With limited supervision prioritize and expedite successful and on time tasks with deadlines and follow through.
Process re-engineering process decomposition and process flow diagram design Analytical BSCS preferred or the education plus training that include knowledge, skills and abilities needed Project Management certification preferred Certified Quality Management, Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
