Days/Hrs: Monday thru Friday/ 8am - 5pm PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: The primary function of the MIS. Technician is to provide computer and telecommunication support when called upon.
Using his or her skills and training, the MIS. Technician would perform preventative maintenance or service on the company's computers, telecommunication equipment, automation, and sorting systems needing attention.
As part of a team, the MIS. Technician protects the company's information and equipment from computer attacks, viruses, and abuse.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Performs Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP desktop and Windows 2000,2003 server support - Manages system administration tasks - Set up workstations and laptops - Set up VolP phone and extension for new user - Provide technical assistance for both software and hardware related issues to after hour end users - Conduct and maintain inventory of hardware and software assets - Monitor daily servers backup/recovery - Provide Automation and Sorting System support -- Participate in other IT projects as needed -- Other duties may be assigned SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Four years progressive work experience in IT support.
Four years of hands on, multi-location, and Internet WAN support.
Ability to adapt to different situations Good writing and communication skills Project Oriented Details Oriented Good user/client support skills.
Be able to work independently yet be a strong team player Strong troubleshooting skills Must be proficient with configuration and troubleshooting in the following areas: - Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 & MS Office XP - Linux - SQL - Terminal Server - PCAnywhere - TCP/IP - VOIP/IP telephony (Shore Tel) - Dell Desktops & Servers - Veritas Netbackup - Cat5 Cabling Systems - Analog line - Telco data circuits - Leased lines - Frame relay - DSL & VPN - MCP Required - MCSE, CCNA and/or NetScreen firewall, a plus Please forward resume to recruiter [at] transbox [dot] com or fax to 510 568-8987 (with coverletter indicating "MIS-JG").
