QA Director Director of Quality Assurance In this role, you will be responsible for managing all activities of a QA team engaged in but not limited to test planning, execution, functional test automation, and performance testing.

You will provide leadership, direction, expertise, and hands-on assistance to a team of QA engineers responsible for ensuring the quality of the company's enterprise applications.

You will work with a variety of groups across multiple disciplines to streamline, integrate, and continuously improve the effectiveness of the QA department.

As Director, you will be responsible for administrating policies for employee development, performance planning and reviews, counseling, and evaluations.

Primary Responsibilities: Develop and execute a complete end-to-end test strategy for assigned products and features including verification of functionality, performance and scalability Develop and execute a functional test automation strategy that delivers substantial ROI and measurable increases in QA efficiency using off-the-shelf and custom test automation tools Develop and execute performance, stress, stability, and benchmarking test strategies that ensure our products meet or exceed performance targets Provide technical expertise in the use of software testing tools to QA engineers developing automation architectures, custom test tools, and complex network test environments Working closely with members in Technical Support, develop an understanding of customer calls for assigned product(s) and continuously refine the test strategy and processes to increase customer satisfaction and success with Websense solutions Continuously streamline and improve the testing life cycle to ensure test planning, execution, and reporting are effective, agile, and coordinated Lead intra- and interdepartmental process initiatives Partner with the Websense Beta Director to define beta strategy for assigned product(s) and insure that internal/external beta programs are fruitful and result in increased GA quality Work closely with development, product management, documentation, IT, and technical support to ensure that the quality objectives of all projects are met within schedule constraints Clearly communicate QA results, concerns, and project status to the engineering management team and other stakeholders in a timely manner Proactively manage the performance of your team members through coaching, training, rewarding strong performance, and addressing performance issues directly and with fairness if/when they arise May manage software engineers working within the QA department Candidate Should Possess: BA/BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience Typically at least 7 - 10 years experience in the software industry Minimum of 5 years prior management experience Strong QA methodology, process, and technical leadership Past experience with and the ability to lead a highly technical team leveraging advanced QA tools and techniques Positive "can do" attitude with a focus on the success of the team over individual successes Ownership of outstanding issues, is accountable, and establishes a high level of credibility with others in the organization Track record of delivering measurable return on investment (ROI) in the area of functional test automation in addition to hands-on experience with the associated testing tools (preferably Segue SilkTest Experience in developing and executing performance and benchmark test strategies Recent hands-on skills in software development Solid understanding of software programming best practices and principles including data structures, object-oriented design, exception handling, modularity and reuse Must excel in a fast-paced, agile environment where critical thinking and strong problem solving skills are required for success Innovative thinker who is positive, proactive, and readily embraces change Technology: Must have excellent understanding of many technologies relevant to our product lines, including: Networking technologies: TCP/IP networking concepts and applications, including HTTP and other internet protocols, as well as socket level programming Major User Interface technologies: html, dhtml, JavaScript, php, flash "MX" XML technologies: XML, XPath, XSLT, XML Schema, CSS and XSL FO Programming Languages: C/C++, Java, Perl, C#, SQL In 2006, The City of San Diego ran an advertisement showcasing the City's business leaders, in an effort to attract new businesses to America's finest City.
