Technical Architect - Development E Procurement
Permanent - Desired: Ariba Java DataStage Tibco AS400 Oracle Technical Architect - Development e procurement Job Description Purpose As a technical architect, you'll contribute to project success by providing technical leadership and direction on assigned projects and ensuring high quality adherence to standards and best practices.
Evaluating and anticipating the impact of technical solutions on existing application across multiple platforms Providing leadership to integration and implementation partners Interfacing with support and technical infrastructure groups to address production issues Working with infrastructure groups to establish and maintain technical environments and code migration processes.
Writing technical specifications based on functional design Translating technical solutions based on client's needs and feasibility through collaboration with Business Architect(s) Evaluating vendor projects and preparing recommendations based on the impact of hardware or software upgrades on new and existing applications.
This includes patches, service packs and performance modifications.
Understanding interrelationships and the impact of systems and applications upon the technical environment Conducting technical instruction and mentoring for team members and rollout room staff Gathering technical specifications from clients, Enterprise Architecture and design team members and understanding requirements to ensure a high quality solution is produced Performing and leading problem analysis, identifying root causes, outlining resolution options and taking appropriate actions to resolve problems Understanding existing applications and how they relate to each other technically Providing technical assessments and plans to improve performance of applications Mapping technical as is' architecture to existing best practices to either eliminate legacy systems or provide interfaces as necessary Verifying assumptions and plans, made by the application team, with regard to enterprise technical architecture Being a key problem solver for performance, development and production issues, driving the resolution planning and necessary testing Developing code as well as leading several other developers, including walkthroughs and unit testing activities Developing test cases and plans to verify successful implementation of system enhancements Leading team in completion of SEI documentation and processes Monitoring scheduled jobs in environments for errors and then implementing solutions Job Requirements Minimum Requirements: 4-year college degree or equivalent IT industry experience Five years IT experience Strong verbal, presentation and written communications skills for technical audiences; able to explain technical solutions to technical teams Good interpersonal, problem solving, reasoning and analytical skills Good negotiation skills Strong demonstration of leadership across technical groups and of technical development teams Understand and have documented the complete life cycle Desired Requirements: Technical certifications on both Ariba and related technologies including Java, Data Stage, Tibco, AS400 and Oracle Databases Four years systems and programming experience in technical areas Retail business experience, with an emphasis on procurement tools and applications Experience with testing tools and methodologies especially as they relate to performance and stress testing.
