Service Desk Technician: Perkins+Will
Perkins+Will is seeking a Service Desk Technician.
This position will be the initial support level for customer contact on all basic and complex IT related issues firm-wide.
Responsibilities include having a basic understanding of the product or service supported by IT; fielding incoming requests to the Service Desk via telephone, e-mail or support ticket to ensure courteous, timely and effective resolution of customer issues; documenting all pertinent end user identification information and detail nature of problem or issue; prioritizing and scheduling problems, escalating when required to appropriate individual; recording and tracking the service desk request problem-solving process; developing help sheets and FAQ lists for end users; performing post-resolution follow ups to help requests; evaluating documented resolutions and analyzing trends for ways to prevent future problems and alerting management of emerging trends; reinforcing service level agreements to manage end-user expectations; identifying and learning appropriate software and hardware used by the organization; and managing and attending to additional responsibilities as Service Desk continues to grow.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering required.
At least six months experience in a call center environment.
Knowledge of customer service principals and practices.
Typing proficiency: 30-40 words per minute.
Available to work shifts between hours of 7am-7pm Monday-Friday.
Proficient in relevant computer and internet related applications.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
Candidate must be self motivated, detail-oriented, have ability to absorb and retain information quickly, and have strong listening skills.
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
