Lead Application Developer Our client, a large, well-established distribution company in the near north suburbs, is adding 2 Senior/Lead Developers to their growing team.

Description This position is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of the state-of-the-art software solutions that will drive the company's Technology Solutions.

" Development, implementation, and operational support of new business solutions and enhancements to existing applications software, as appropriate.

" Develop, implement and provide operational support of application systems that support one or more business segment components of the IT business systems plan.

" Study, analyze, and define the impact of the user's business needs on the system components and its interfaces to provide maximum benefits from each system.

" Develops project plans and manages those plans, as appropriate.

" Work independently using good judgment and decision making skills obtained through experience in information technology.

" Provide subject matter expertise in the analysis and preparation of specifications and plans for development/modification of application business systems.

" Elicit requirements from business experts and translate these requirements into software implementation that integrate with existing software components.

" Prepare requirements documents, specifications, balancing procedures and data element definitions.

" Develop application systems that comply with the standard system development methodology and concepts for design, programming, backup, and recovery to deliver solutions that have superior performance and integrity.

" Oversees the integrity of complex/critical business applications on a day-to-day basis, as appropriate.

" Analyze, develop and implement solutions to complex system problems.

" Train, coach, mentor and assist less experienced Developers in all phases of the standard system development methodology, life cycle, and concepts for design, programming, backup, and recovery.

" Provide 7x24 on-call support for application systems.

" Develop high level design to be used in preparing associated documentation.

" Provide quality assurance testing and interpret results of programming changes of other team members and recommend revisions.

REQUIREMENTS J2EE Experience.

Experience with Java, PL/SQL Portlets.

Experience with Oracle Database Design and development.

Experience with Report Design and Development (Actuate, Crystal, Business Objects).

EAI and ETL design and development.

Qualifications: Experience in IT Design and Development Design, Development, and test experience in at least one technology Database design Design and build reports Both Front end (GUI) and Back End (Database) Design and development Skills - Technical Java: J2EE, EJB, JSP, Struts or Other Framework, Servlets, JDBC, XML, XSLT, Ant Scripting Other: Development in at least one other programming language (C++, C, VB, .

Net, etc) Database: Oracle including Stored procedures and packages Version Control: PVCS, CVS, VSS or others OS: Unix, Windows (2k,2003) plus scripting MS Office: Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, Access - All extremely proficient Skills - Analysis and Design Strong ability to identify issues, define problems, and present options to solve the problem Gathered, defined, and documented business and system requirements Performed System Recovery and Analysis UML, Use Case creation Created technical and detailed designs Data and process modeling Create and maintain project plans Followed full Software Development Lifecycle Performed detailed technical code reviews - both for comparison against standards and for following design and requirements Designed and developed reusable components Good troubleshooting skills Development Java development Writing high performance SQL Experience with EAI interface design and development (eg Tibco, webMethods) Experience with ETL interface design and development (eg Informatica) Experience implementing software packages (ERP, CRM, etc) Experience in Application setup and deployment Experience with App servers and Web Servers Data setup, conversation, loading and testing techniques Experience in reporting tools (eg Actuate, Crystal Reports, Business Objects) Experience in administering and configuring one or more enterprise packaging applications Apply Directly: maggie [at] advancesearch [dot] com
