Retail Sales Consultant (p/t) - Sacramento (Fair Oaks), CASacramento, CA Position Description: The Retail Sales Consultant position with Cingular Wireless has the following responsibilities: Assists new and existing customers with the purchase of wireless equipment and service.
Provides customer assistance with local market promotions.
Works exclusively in a company owned retail store or kiosk.
Assists with special projects assigned by supervisor and/or other duties when required.
DUTIES: Sell phones, services and accessories at management approved pricing.
Achieve sales and customer service objectives.
Handles administrative aspects of the sale including: completing customer contracts, verifying identification, running credit, preparing customer files, addressing local market promotions, pulling product from inventory, completing warranty paperwork, taking customer payments and filing finished orders to ensure accurate and efficient processing.
Provides information on products, accessories, service features, pricing plans, roaming and data.
Interface with other departments on customer behalf when necessary.
Drives revenue by communicating the benefits of products, services, features, rate plans and special offers to new and existing customers as appropriate.
Provides world-class experience by resolving customer complaints and/or by referring customer to supervisor or proper department for resolution.
Focuses on retaining customers by providing updated product and promotional information.
FUNCTIONS: Responsible for cash drawer and daily deposit of customer payments; handles incoming calls for customer service, bill payments, upgrades, trade-ins, and service charges, billing issues and customer complaints; prepares equipment for installation and schedules installations and repairs; tests and assembles phones; maintains store appearance and product presentation to company standards; may be required to wear a uniform.
Position Qualifications: · A High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required and an Associates degree preferred.
· One or more years of retail sales experience with key holder / cash handling responsibilities, prospecting, and telemarketing and/or outside sales is preferred.
· Experience working in the telecommunications industry is desirable.
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills and attention to detail; and the ability to speak Spanish is desirable.
· Computer proficiency (MS Office), ability to operate wireless equipment, photocopier and facsimile machine, printer and multi-task in a fast-paced team environment is essential.
· The ability to work day, evening, weekends, holidays and occasional overtime.
In addition, must have the ability to stand for long periods of time, up to eight hours per day; and travel to multiple store locations when required.
Note: This position is part of a collective bargaining unit.
The wage for this position includes an hourly rate and commission variable pay. The hourly rate of pay starts at $11.
28+ and varies based on applicable years of exp. and knowledge.
