"Job DescriptionDepartment Marketing Statement Title: Rental Sales Agent Department: Operations Job Grade: 1 Reports To: Kevin Donnelly Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for greeting customers, processing rentals and selling optional services, answering and receiving telephone calls, resolving overdue rentals, responding to customer questions and complaints, servicing vehicles for customer rentals and communicating with shuttle drivers for customer pick-ups.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Greet customers, complete necessary rental or parking information, disclose rates, terms and conditions of rental and obtain customer signatures while using approved sales techniques to encourage customers to utilize service options.
2. Receive telephone calls and handle customer related issues; direct other phone calls to appropriate personnel or take messages.
3. Complete, review and submit various reports to supervisor.
4. Maintain and update rental agreement files; contact and notify customers of overdue rental vehicles and inquire as to the expected date of return; process rental extensions.
5. Balance money in counter drawers, retrieve amount of money collected during shift, complete deposit slip and place money in safe.
6. Enter and maintain information in location logs.
7. Maintain cleanliness of the rental office area and perform associated custodial duties.
8. Complete car exchange requests in computer system.
9. Communicate with bus drivers via two-way radio to coordinate the pick-up and delivery of customers.
10. Perform related responsibilities as assigned or required.
Job Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and Skill · Knowledge of and ability to use effective sales techniques.
· Knowledge and skill in the operation of car reservation software.
· Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills with customers.
· Knowledge of car rental operations.
· Good organizational skills.
· Ability to manage stressful and unusual situations while maintaining good customer relations.
· Ability to present a professional, enthusiastic attitude through effective communication skills to promote a positive impression of Dollar to customers and employees.
· Ability to recognize the opportunity to present upgrades to customers.
· Ability to type and perform data entry accurately.
· Ability to process all paperwork according to policies and procedures.
Required Education/Experience · High School Diploma or Equivalent · At least 9 to 12 months of car rental or sales experience.
· Valid driver's license as required by state.
