Porter: Ashley Furniture Homestore

Job Category: Retail

Function: Responsible for the cleanliness of the showroom, offices, restroom and storage spaces of our store.

Assists with minor store repairs, furniture touch-ups and receiving and unpacking of accessories and furniture.

Assists in placing accessories and furniture.

Assists customers with purchases or floor moves.

Ensures the store is clean, shiny and orderly.

Requirements: One year of experience in custodial or warehouse position preferred, but not required.

Must have the ability to make basic repairs and have good organizational skills.

Must have a clean driving record, be a self-starter and a team player.

Physical Requirements; An associate must meet the essential physical requirements to accommodate the functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to lift products in excess of 60 lbs. without the use of a lifting device and substantially more with a manual furniture dolly.

Will be required to walk and stand, crouch or kneel to reach objects.

Will occasionally be required to work outdoors and in extreme temperature environments.

The Porter will be required to use miscellaneous cleaning supplies and cleaning chemicals on a daily basis.
