Job Details: SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE Supervises the activities of assigned food preparation area on assigned shift.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

1. Supervises the preparation of food in assigned areas of responsibility.

2. Performs frequent checks of assigned food preparation areas and assist in food production when volume requires.

3. Assists in the maintenance of prescribed standards for quality, quantity and appearance of food prepared in assigned food preparation area through effective guidance, counseling and instruction of assigned personnel.

4. Assigns stations and breaks for subordinate personnel and directs their work activity.

5. Maintains an adequate supply of food stock for the needs of assigned kitchens; controls ordering to eliminate waste; and keeps sanitary conditions at acceptable standards.

6. Encourages cooperation between assigned food preparation personnel and food service personnel to insure quick and efficient service from the kitchen.

7. Maintains facilities and equipment in clean and operable condition.

Performs inspections of assigned areas as directed.

8. Prepares and presents periodic performance appraisals of assigned personnel.

9. Counsels, coaches and guides assigned personnel in the performance of their duties.

EDUCATION: Two year culinary degree preferred EXPERIENCE: Minimum of four years food preparation in high volume establishment ABILITIES

1. Literacy and fluency in Englis

2. Mobility to move easily around the property and kitchen area

3. Dexterity to use knives and other hand-held kitchen instruments, as well as food preparation equipmen

4. Ability to coordinate multiple task

5. Ability to implement strategic vision and plans into day-to-day operation
