Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in business or life sciences (or equivalent) required.
Zone 9: Therapeutic Specialist 2-4 years pharmaceutical sales experience required.
Strong product knowledge and success in hospital selling required.
Job performance results meet or exceed job requirements for previous 12 months Mastery of selling skills including group-selling skills Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required.
Advanced Level positions (Zones 8-7) are available for promotion opportunity: Minimum requirements include (in addition to above): 4-10 years of sales experience with a minimum 2-5 years pharmaceutical or specialty sales experience.
Expert product knowledge.
Job performance results meet or exceed job requirements for previous 24 months.
Demonstrated knowledge of the specialty business and marketplace.
Preferred Qualifications: Details: Sell specialty products (ie psychiatric/neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, etc.) to specific customer markets according to the business plan.
Utilize customer- and competition-focused selling techniques to continually assess the knowledge of the customer and strategy to maintain high customer intimacy and customer knowledge.
Effectively use call plans to target high-prescribing MDs and others who influence Rx habits of other MDs, interns and residents.
Develop local business plan and quarterly sales promotion objectives to increase market shares by outlining tactics, activities and resources.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of GSK products, competitor products and promotional strategies and objectives.
Establish strong awareness of GSK products with directors and key clinicians in targeted physician's specialties.
Develop creative sales strategies to reach hard-to-see doctors or hard-to-work accounts to positively impact sales in territory.
Develop and deliver informative sales presentations based on customer needs.
Work collectively with other representatives in arranging speakers, displays and special programs.
Maintain current, approved protocol and promotional materials to be included in sales presentation.
As assigned, make calls on retail pharmacies and other special customers.
Travel required.
