Sr Research Technologist II - 9792
Description Independently develops new scientific protocols for research program.
Specifies approach and coordinates and organizes team meetings and promotes participation of lab members in experiments.
Analyzes/interprets data.
Authors and co-authors grant proposals, publications, and presentations; contributes to scientific discussions at regional/national level.
Able to creatively apply and extract scientific literature to meet program needs.
Reviews work of other labs; serves as a resource person inside/outside of Mayo.
Shares lab administration duties, including allocation of budget/resources.
(002813) Department: Mayo Proteomics Research Center Qualifications: The Mayo Proteomics Research Center (MPRC) is looking for a scientist to integrate into a highly collegial work environment.
The qualified individual will possess a PhD or equivalent on-the-job training in a field that equipped you to perform proteomics analysis of proteins and peptides.
The MPRC if well equipped with a suite of proteomics tools including LTQ, LTQ-FT and LTQ-Orbitrap mass spectrometers.
Qualified candidates must show competence in nano-LC as well as the analysis and manipulation of proteins/peptides.
Experience in MS spectral interpretation and quantitation utilizing MS techniques is also helpful.
Operation and routine maintenance of MS equipment required.
This position will require excellent communication skills and a very strong collaborative work ethic.
The MPRC is currently composed of 15 FTE including bioinformatics personnel.
A major goal of the MPRC is the validation and discovery of novel biomarkers of disease that will ultimately help Mayo patients and customers.
