Job DescriptionHOME OFFICE BASED POSITION WITHIN AREA OF COVERAGE (Arizona, Colorado, Nevado, New Mexico, Utah - Salt Lake, Phoenix, Las Vegas are preferred).

Develops on-going professional relationships with healthcare decision-makers to provide medical and scientific support in key regional managed market accounts for selected therapeutic areas.

Facilitates the education of account affiliated healthcare providers and colleagues regarding new therapies developed and commercialized by Novartis.

Works closely with other Novartis personnel to ensure medical information needs of healthcare professionals are met. Participates in strategic planning for the key regional accounts.

Identifies appropriate clinical/outcomes investigators and facilitates placement into Novartis sponsored clinical trials.

Assists regional account customers with projects including treatment algorithm development, economic analysis, data analysis, disease management, and compliance/persistency programs.

PRINCIPALS ONLY! Minimum requirementsMD, PharmD, or PhD with 4 years Post-Doctoral experience required.

Field-based medical and/or managed care experience preferred.

Thorough knowledge of clinical medicine, the managed markets, pharmacoeconomics, disease management, and medical research.

Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills, (including ability to network), strong personal integrity, teamwork abilities and a customer focus are necessary.

Must possess a thorough understanding of the FDA, OIG, HIPAA and other ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.

Must be able to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment.

Preferred: Strong working knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access), and SciOps specific IT platforms (Lotus Notes, Sonic, Backweb).

Ability to interface effectively with a variety of technical platforms for the collection, review, and dissemination of medical information.

Demonstrated record of scientific/medical publication.

Demonstrated knowledge of GCP practices and standards.

Demonstrated technical expertise in at least one disease or therapeutic area.
