Description Candidates are being sought for a 12-week GRADUATE STUDENT SUMMER INTERNSHIP at the Johnson & Johnson Skin Research Center to study the interactions of skin and the nervous system to better understand the role of external stimulation of the skin in the development of nociceptive responses such as sting/burn/pain.
The intern would ideally be a PhD candidate studying the signal transduction pathways of either sensory neurons or keratinocytes.
The Skin Research Center is located in Skillman New Jersey and focuses on the study and function of skin.
Qualifications The intern would ideally be a PhD candidate studying the signal transduction pathways of either sensory neurons or keratinocytes.
The intern would ideally have a BS/MS in a biological discipline (Biology, Biochemistry, or Immunology) and have at least 2 years of study in graduate school.
They should have experience culturing primary cells, and experience with cytokine/protein release with ELISA, and biochemical methods for detection of cellular toxicity and measurements of secondary messengers.
