Senior Load Forecasting Analyst
The Load Forecaster provides technical expertise to ISO and Load Forecasting (LF) staff. The position will support development of state-of-the-art load forecasting methodologies, training, and guiding staff in the LF group, as well as assisting in formulating ISO load policy issues. Job Responsibilities: Continual methodological review and analysis of historical events. The above major accountabilities are based on the utilization of advanced mathematics, including complicated statistical modeling methods and analysis. Many independent data sources, sub models, and assumptions about “how the world works” are required. Estimate for the ISO-NE Control Area and the six New England states annual energy and monthly peak models. This involves economic forecasts, cost of electricity forecasts, historical database updates and maintenance. Assist in developing the ISO-NE, state, and subarea energy and peak forecasts. Assist in preparing/presenting presentations for the NEPOOL Load Forecast Committee (LC), Reliability Committee (RC), and the Planning Advisory Committee, with the goal of getting consensus agreements. Ensure compliance with NPCC/NERC/NEPOOL standards and criteria. Job Requirements : Two to five years experience in utility load forecasting or equivalent. Must demonstrate expertise in applying statistical methods, computer applications, and tools used in forecasting and analysis studies. Must have command of state-of-the-art methods in load forecasting and analysis. Ensure compliance with NPCC/NERC/NEPOOL standards and criteria. Education - Master’s Degree in Economics, Business, Statistics or Mathematics, Engineering, or related field. PhD preferred.
