MCS OPERATOR (OPERATOR SPECIALIST)
MCS OPERATOR (OPERATOR SPECIALIST) Indianapolis Belmont Plant Principal Duties: This position exercises a great deal of discretionary judgment based upon technical knowledge and experience, particularly during high flow and other abnormal plant operating processes.
Will be required to change set points, processes and parameters to respond immediately to plant conditions.
Provides assistance to shift supervisors in overseeing work of subordinate operational staff and assumes responsibilities of shift supervisor in his/her absence and makes recommendations to shift supervisor regarding performance management of staff.
Also provides guidance and communicates on-the-job training and direction to other employees, when necessary.
Administers, trains and ensures department compliance with management policies and directives.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations at the algebra level with the use of a calculator.
Ability to hold and maintain a current Indiana WWT Class III Operator certification or be able to obtain within 24 months.
Valid Indiana driver's license and maintain acceptable driving record required.
Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
May be required to obtain and hold a CDL license.
Thorough knowledge of normal and abnormal process and equipment conditions.
Understandings of NPDES permit requirements.
Salary: Commensurate with experience Hours: Varies based on shift work assignments
