Visitor Information Specialist: Burke County Tourism Development Authority
Burke County Tourism Development Authority Visitor Information Specialist Job Traits and Duties The Visitor Information Specialist of the Burke County Tourism Development Authority (TDA) and Burke County Chamber of Commerce must be a highly motivated, outgoing person who has strong communication qualities.
They must be skilled in working with the public, multi-tasking, possess strong organizational skills; and flexible to work weekends and evenings when necessary.
Strong knowledge of area tourism attractions and other businesses in Burke County and surrounding areas.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Prior customer service experience helpful.
They need to understand tourism and what tourism means to Burke County .
Salary Range $25,000-$32,000.
All applicants must fill out a formal job application which can be obtained by going to the Burke County Tourism Development Authority website: www.discoverburkecounty.com Duties include but are not limited to: Strong knowledge of area tourism attractions and other businesses in Burke County and surrounding areas Direct contact with the public on a daily basis Maintain social media efforts of the TDA and Chamber Manage bulk mailing of inquiries Ensure the visitor center is properly staffed Maintain brochure racks and other literature representing the area, region and state Maintain accurate records of visitors and inquiries Communicate and work closely with area lodging establishments , attractions and other businesses.
