Program Assistant, United Christmas Service - Data Entry: United Way of Central Indiana
UNITED WAY OF CENTRAL INDIANA Job Description (Seasonal, Full Time - October 13, 2010- January 7, 2011) Title: Assistant, Program United Christmas Service Data Entry Division: Resource Development Reports to: Director, Volunteer Center Deadline: The targeted resume deadline is September 10, 2010.
However, resumes may be accepted until the position is filled, regardless of the targeted deadline.
PURPOSE OF POSITION To assist the Program Coordinator, volunteers, social workers and donor groups of the United Christmas Service (UCS).
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS High school or general equivalency diploma with at least 1-2 years administrative assistant/secretarial experience preferred.
College coursework in office management, business, non-profit management, or other relevant experience helpful.
Must be computer literate and have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Data entry and database inquiry experience desirable.
Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
Must be well organized and able to help organize a work team.
Ability to work under pressure is essential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Critical responsibilities are described below, however nothing in this description restricts the right of management to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
Greet volunteers, social workers and donors entering the UCS Program Room.
Accept donations from donors that are walk-ins at the UCS Program Room.
Provide administrative support to the UCS Program Room, such as faxing, answering phones, and mailing materials.
Input alphanumeric data from the United Christmas Service (UCS) applications efficiently and accurately into our organizational database.
Verify database entries for accuracy and check for duplication of services via the community clearinghouse in the UCS database.
Will be working in our donor database with confidential.
This will require a high level of integrity and ethics to keep information confidential and secure.
Respect client confidentiality.
Promote a cooperative spirit within the organization and among internal and external United Way staff, volunteers, agencies, donors and clients.
Perform other duties as assigned.
