Our mission is to improve the quality and caliber of K?12 study of the environment.

Our ongoing efforts include the critique of environmental education materials, and providing resource guides to support teachers and students in the study of the environmental sciences.

To further our cause we are seeking an energetic hands-on Executive Director for our Washington, DC office.

The candidate will lead a small team of professional staff, writers and various advisory groups and small panels.

Key accountabilities include the execution of ongoing programs and the development of new projects, a well-established website, NSF funded projects, and will actively participate in fundraising.

A Bachelors degree in Environmental Science or related field, and a minimum of 5 years experience managing a small (less than $1 million) national non-profit organization is required.

The position offers: 1)Improve the quality and caliber of K?12 education about the environment 2)Raise awareness about the importance of environmental education 3)Work with a distinguished group of scholars 4)Work on challenging programs and projects 5)Set the long range plan for a national not-for profit 6)Compensation and Benefits commensurate with experience What you?ll need: 1)Bachelors degree in Environmental Science or related field (Masters degree preferred) 2)5 or more years managing a small national non-profit organization (budget less than $1 M) 3)Strategic or long-range budgeting and project planning experience 4)Program development and project execution 5)Fundraising and grant solicitation 6)Preparation and completion of written materials related to the various projects.

7)Excellent verbal, written, public speaking and presentation skills Interviews are being scheduled.
