Convention & Tradeshow Assistant
Entry level convention & tradeshow position SmithBucklin Corporation, established in 1949, originated as an association management company.
Presently we serve national trade associations, professional and scientific societies, corporations, and information technology groups with offices in Chicago, Washington, DC, and St. Louis.
SmithBucklin is the largest and premier association management company.
Our Washington, DC, office is looking for a Convention and Tradeshow assistant.
This is an entry-level position.
The Convention and Tradeshow assistant will handle routine convention responsibilities including researching requirements, preparing meeting specifications, setting up files and master books, handling routine inquiries, drafting correspondence, preparing reports and submitting invoices for payment.
The convention assistant will also be a point of contact for small client meetings.
Qualifications: A bachelor degree is preferred and any related experience in meeting or conference planning is desired.
PC experience with Windows operating system and MS Office is required.
An ideal candidate will possess initiative, detail orientation, a strong focus on customer service, strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent time management and organizational/multi-tasking skills and be a team player.
Candidate must be able to work overtime with little/no notice and some travel is involved.
