Cognitive Behavioral Specialist OhioLink/Lima Job in Lima 45801, Ohio US
To Serve communities by providing research-based programs and servicesthat promote healthier families, personal responsibility and public safety Position Summary: The purpose of this classification is to educate, counsel and advise individuals with alcohol, drug, mental and/or emotional problems.
May counsel individuals, families, or groups or engage in intervention programs.
Persons in this classification are required to maintain applicable professional certification/licensure, based on the assigned area of concentration(e.g., CODEC, LAS, LAS LACTIC).
Education: Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work or other related behavioral sciences.
Experience: 12 ms. exp. in assessing, counseling individuals with substance abuse, chemical dependency, cognitive behavior issues.
Computer Skills: Skill in use of personal computer and related software(e.g., Wordperfect, Microsoft Word,Excel, Tracker*); use of office equipment(e.g., fax, copiers, printers).
*Denotes skill developed after employment.
Certificates and Licenses: Certification or actively working toward certification in chemical dependency, LSW, or other related certification or license in mental health and /or chemical dependency.
Other Requirements: Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license; must pass a criminal background check; must pass a pre-employment drug test; must complete 40 res of in-service and/or professional development training o an annual basis; must maintain license and/or certification in assigned area of responsibility in order to maintain employment.
