Assistant Manager - Queens: Assoc. for the Help of Retarded Children (AHRC)
Job ID: 3487Position Description: AHRC NYC's Residential Services Department has several Assistant Manager openings in the College Point and Glen Oaks communities.
The Assistant Manager is responsible for collaborating with the management team for aspects of the operation of the community residential program (ICF/IRA or Supportive Apartment).
The Assistant Manager fulfills these responsibilities through the activities of the staff under his/her supervision.
Therefore, the major responsibilities of the Assistant Manager include the training and supervision activities that are necessary to ensure that direct care staff are trained and monitored in all aspects of residential care and treatment, including the safe operation of the facility.
Position Requirements: Both residences are homes to individuals with autism.
Ideal candidates should have prior experience working with people with autism and working knowledge of applied behavioral techniques.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2-3 years related experience in a group home setting and/or training desired.
