DESCRIPTION: This person will be primarily responsible for updating and refining content for the SolidWorks website and other electronic promotional materials.

This will include working with the Web Content Manager to identify content needs, working with Product Management and other technical staff to create new content, and uploading new copy and visual assets to the website using a Content Management System.

The person in this role will also work with the SolidWorks Internet Marketing team to refine and implement copy and content for other externally-hosted platforms such as virtual event sites and mini-sites.

S/he will also be involved in the creation and development of online marketing materials, and will contribute to SolidWorks social computing efforts.

While web design and development skills are definitely beneficial, this is primarily a copywriting role.

Excellent writing and communication skills are essential, and a background in engineering or other technical field is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Define copy and content needs for www.solidworks.com and implement changesEstablish strategy, process and schedule for content maintenance and begin initial executionMake recommendations for ways to improve the overall online experienceWork with the Internet Marketing team to refine and execute on existing SEO strategyWork with Internet Marketing team to define best practices and execution tactics regarding copy for emails, newsletters, and promotional materials.

Assist with development of new content for social computing efforts (blogs, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)EDUCATION: BS/BA in English, marketing, journalism, or related field.

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 3-5 years copywriting experience in a production web environment.
