Voice Engineer Job in New York, New York US
A major client, located in New York City, is seeking a Voice Engineer.
Voice Engineer, Associate Level.
The candidate will develop recommendation(s) on a global basis with respect to design, implementation and administration of the firm's trading systems, system adjuncts, and trading network.
This includes turrets, speakers, intercoms, recording systems, monitoring systems, and trader line facilities (hoot and holler, private lines, T1, etc.) In addition to this, the candidate will provide technical and project management support for implementation projects for the above technologies.
Specific assignments will depend on requirements of each project and will include: * Working as part of a global team across several technology platforms.
Architecture and design for business defined infrastructure for new and existing offices.
Creating and maintaining system design documentation.
Procuring estimates and managing vendors.
Manage project deliverables across multiple projects.
Insure that all infrastructure requirements adhere to IT standards.
Coordinate pre-production phases of large scale projects.
Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships within IT and with vendor partners.
Identifying opportunities for improvement, cost avoidance and savings.
Change management of scope changes to projects.
Development of interoperability's between global voice technologies.
Provide third and fourth tier engineering support for TDM and IPT for BT trading platforms and Avaya platforms for global customer base.
Skills Required: Minimum 5 to 7 years experience in sales and trading infrastructure.
Strong project and management skills.
In depth knowledge of British Telecom ITS systems, Avaya, Speakerbus, Telaid, and Voiceprint and IP telephony.In depth knowledge of SIP. Extensive knowledge of VOIP and VOIP deployment.
Extensive knowledge of telecom marketplace (hardware and carrier-based services).
Strong negotiation skills.
Ability to translate business requirements into technology solutions.
Experience with servers and CTI applications.
Strong verbal and written skills.
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office - specifically Visio and Project.
Self motivator and strong problem solver
