By making trial participation convenient and comfortable to patients, were able to generate accelerated patient recruitment and enrollment, enhanced patient compliance and improved patient retention to the trial sponsors.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for establishing and implementing the operational objectives and clinical processes employed by CRNs Clinical Research team.
The Director of Clinical Operations holds full accountability and responsibility for the growth and continued development of the clinical team; for the leadership required to install systematized processes and procedures; and management and guidance required to execute plans, implement policy, and ensure zero defect quality & performance while building the infrastructure necessary to create a healthy, profitable and scalable operation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not exclusively, the following: · Achieve operational outcomes supporting the needs of this high growth business.
· Standardize operations, drive efficiencies while improving quality of service.
· Develop / implement strategies to continually enhance departmental performance.
· Establish baseline metrics to gauge effect of change on operational capacity and customer service quality.
· Monitor key performance indicators and metrics, making appropriate adjustments to achieve objectives.
· Develop, establish, document, and implement clinical policies, procedures, processes and performance standards, consistent with ICH/GCP standards.
· Responsible for Clinical Operations planning, budgeting, reporting and overall performance.
· Identify, hire, lead and retain a cohesive, high-performing clinical team capable of meeting the demands of the high growth business.
· Develop training programs capable of making new employees productive quickly.
· Key member of executive team, collaborating to insure that strategic plans, budgets, corporate programs are developed, communicated and implemented effectively.
· Participate in business development activities to support overall business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS: · Demonstrated ability to standardize operations, drive efficiencies while improving quality of operational outcomes; committed to continuous improvement and high clinical standards.
· Management and leadership capabilities required to attract, motivate, coordinate and retain a high- performing clinical team.
· Must possess a strong customer service mentality.
· Knowledge and contacts in the clinical trials/outsourcing space and/or homecare nursing and pharmacy.
· Global experience.
· Teamwork; Ability to collaborate as a key part of the senior management team.
· Professionalism; outstanding interpersonal impact; presence.
· Entrepreneurial mindset.
Strong work ethic; self-motivated; able to work independently.
Possess high level of integrity, maturity, ethics and excellent business judgment.
· Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications, public speaking and leadership skills.
· Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, over short and long time frames, and maintain strategic and tactical direction.
PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: · 10 years of experience in a clinical research based business where the candidate can demonstrate success developing, implementing and managing the operational/clinical infrastructure and employees.
· MBA Degree, and / or equivalent graduate level education and business experience.
· Global experience very helpful.
· Previous operational system implementation experience preferred.
· Experience in a highly regulated, healthcare environment.
· Homecare nursing background helpful.
· Previous experience with a venture capital owner a plus.
