Venture Banking Officer / Square 1 Bank Job in Waltham 02451, Massachusetts US

POSITION SUMMARY The Venture Banking Officer will partner with the senior Venture Bankers and the centralized analysts to manage the credit account relationships.
The Venture Banking Officer will assist the senior Venture Bankers with underwriting and documentation of loan requests by providing services such as investigation of the borrowing entity, financial analysis of the entity and the proposed structure, analysis of industry/economic factors affecting the request.
The Venture Banking Officer will also assist in prospecting and close new business relationships as appropriate.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist Regional Manager and venture banking officers to monitor existing portfolio and lead underwriting functions of new opportunities Responsible for writing Credit Action requests in consultation with regional manager, banking officers, and risk managers Work with compliance officers to spot trends in financial performance of existing customers Develop a network of industry peers to promote the Bank and generate qualified leads Communication with colleagues, internal customers and management.
Performs financial statement analysis.
Reviews draft agreements for consistency with approvals.
Writes credit approval proposals.
Assists in the retention and expansion of relationships with existing customers.
Participates in joint sales calls with other Venture Bankers.
Responds to prospect or customer credit questions, partners with the Venture Bankers to identify and capitalize on appropriate new business opportunities.
Provides on-going monitoring of a portfolio of loan accounts for loan agreement compliance and assessment of overall credit risk in the portfolio.
Retains and expands relationships with existing customers.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: BA required or equivalent work experience; 2-4 years work experience; Venture Lending analysis work experience.
Creative and strategic thinker with excellent problem solving and organizational skills; Ability to exhibit professionalism and a positive attitude under pressure; Ability to work independently yet collaborate cross-functionally in a team environment; Superior oral and written communication skills; Ability to handle multiple priorities, projects and relationships simultaneously; Proven success in managing large client accounts.
Systems and Software Used: Microsoft Office - EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
