Position ID: 21507Position Title: Underwriter Min Education Desired: Associate Degree Travel Percentage: Minimum Relocation: No Job Summary: The ideal candidate for this position is responsible for various duties within the home office underwriting unit of our Medical Stop Loss department.
He/she will be responsible for the following: -Logging and Screening requests for proposal -Reviews requests for proposals to determine accuracy and completeness of information provided -Analyzes and inputs account data necessary for underwriting -Maintains documentation in accordance with corporate standards -Assists in obtaining medical reviews and additional information as needed -Interacts with and provides support to senior underwriters -Interacts directly with Producers and Business Development Manager -Communicates detailed information clearly and concisely via email and phone with internal and external customers -Anticipates and responds to the needs of customers In order to meet the needs of our clients, the ideal candidate must be able to work in a high volume, deadline oriented environment.
He/she will be expected to complete work quickly and accurately on all assignments.
Some college preferred.
Previous Health Insurance industry experience out of Underwriting or Claims or experience out of a Third Party Administrator a plus but will consider other insurance industry experience out of claims or underwriting.
Strong Microsoft office skills required with strengths in Excel required.
Previous experience working in a team environment preferred.
Strong written communication skills required.
