UNIX Systems Administrator Job in Dallas 75243, Texas US
UNIX Systems AdministratorLevel II Technology Service Professionals, (TSP, based in Dallas, TX) www.mytsp.net is seeking an experienced UNIX Systems Administrator who is also experienced with Linux (RedHat) and Solaris operating systems.
TSP is a nationally recognized technology leader that offers a broad range of Managed Services including Hardware and Software Support, Storage Solutions and Professional Consulting Services.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 3 - 5 years experience in the management and maintenance of systems and hardware in a UNIX environmentExperience installing Solaris and Linux operating systemsExperience updating operating systemsExperience applying patches and fixesExcellent customer service skills managing user requests for service Must have an understanding of naming service (NIS, NIS+, LDAP) in relation to user administration for accounts and groupsKnowledge of mounting file systems and automounter is requiredExperience supporting user issues (Linux/Solaris)Experience with Remedy ticketing system preferred Knowledge of LINUX/RedHat is requiredPerl scripting experience preferredBS degree preferred POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Install Solaris and Linux operating systemsUpdate operating systemsApply patches and fixesManager user requests for serviceProvide Linux and Solaris user support via phone and in personPerform hardware configurations and modificationsPerform system capacity planning and managementPerform storage management TSP offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package that includes, medical, dental, vision, life, disability and 14 PTO days per year and 9 paid holidays.
