Endeca is seeking a hands-on UI designer / developer to help deliver innovative, enterprise browser-based applications.
Starting with wireframes, candidates will be responsible for conceptualizing visual treatments / interaction models, and then applying these designs to working software via standards-compliant, cross browser compatible CSS / HTML.
Expect equal amounts of Photoshop and production CSS work.
Candidates expected to mesh with a small team of senior, experienced, Java application developers working in a lean / agile environment, as well as interact with project stakeholders and UX resources.
Above all else, candidates are expected to make us look good.
Both contract and full-time applicants will be considered for this position.
Responsibilities - Extend, refine, and mature existing interface designs - Conceptualize and implement new, innovative, and intuitive interface designs - Keep current on new browsers, versions, capabilities & limitations - Develop and maintain style guides Skills - Photoshop / Illustrator mastery - CSS / HTML mastery - Javascript / AJAX / JQuery / Flex experience a strong plus - Experience working with Eclipse IDE a plus Qualifications - Crisp, clean design sensibilities, and obsessive attention to detail are non-negotiable - Experience designing web-based applications (not just web sites) a must - Experiece with component frameworks (ie portals) a plus - Exposure to IxD / UX / UCD / HCI / IA principles - 3 to 5 years experience in web design / development - Bachelors degree in computer science, design, or equivalent - Portfolio required
