Trauma - Injury Prevention/Education Specialist* Job in Myrtle Beach , South Carolina US
The Trauma Injury Prevention/Education Specialist, assumes accountability for developing, supporting, coordinating and presenting trauma education/prevention activities within the hospital and at the community level.
This would include but not be limited to providing information to trauma program staff, patients/families and coordinating community activities to promote trauma awareness and prevention.
The Trauma Injury Prevention/Education Specialist designs, plans and implements formal and informal education programs based on evaluations of department and hospital needs.
Participates in performance improvement activities that benefit the trauma program.
Demonstrates clinical nursing competency and acts as a clinical resource, functioning as a role model for patient care and assists in staff and community development.
Trauma center public relations are inherent in this role.
The position reports to the Trauma Director.
QualificationPosition Requirements: BSN from accredited school of nursing preferred Licensed RN in State of South Carolina Five years nursing/clinical experience required in ED/ICU.
Experience in both pediatrics and adults in emergency, trauma and critical care preferred Minimum two years experience teaching, formal or informal TNCC certification TNCC Instructor preferred PHTLS Insturctor preferred CEN or CCRN preferred Strong presentation, communication, organizational and computer skills Must be able to sit and stand for long period of time.
Mut be able to lift minimum of 50 lbs.
