Training Consultant - Major Ops Programs Job in Irving 75063, Texas US
Basic Function: Partners with operations leaders to assess the business and performance improvement needs for Michaels and Aaron Brothers.
Creates performance solutions based on the business goals and performance needs.
Designs and implements solutions, including training, to the organization.
Primary Job Responsibilities: * Meets regularly with operations leaders to identify business needs and opportunities.
* Identifies performance improvement needs to achieve business goals and address opportunities.
* Solves for appropriate performance solutions to achieve goals.
* Works cross-functionally with both Michaels and Aaron Brothers.
* Creates overall process to support execution of solutions in stores.
* Researches content by working with subject matter experts, end-users, management and other resources to identify key training deliverables.
* Determines appropriate training methodology (CBT, Self-Paced, Instructor-Led, Video Based, etc.) based on program content, available time and resources, and trainee needs.
* Gains approval for program design from course requestor, content captain, other business partners, and supervisor prior to development.
* Develop video scripts when needed.
* Works with outside vendors when necessary to design, develop and deliver training programs and processes.
* Creates trainer materials that may include trainer's companions and facilitator's guides.
* Creates trainee materials that may include skill builders, workbooks, job aids, and ready references.
* Creates monitoring and measurement systems to track the effectiveness and value of training to the organization.

* Solicits feedback from participants and sponsors on program content and effectiveness to identify opportunities to improve course design.
* Conducts Correction of Errors to refine programs and advance program.
* Conducts training courses in SMART program * Conducts train-the trainer and coaches subject matter experts on training delivery when needed.
* Utilizes Adult Instructional Techniques to maximize retention and transfer of learning.
* Uses effective assessment techniques throughout training to gauge participant retention.
* Solicits feedback from trainees on facilitation skills to continually refine techniques.
* Keeps up to date on areas of content expertise through ongoing education, review of new policies and procedures, store visits, and regular communication with subject matter experts and content captains.
* Updates training designs on a regular basis to reflect changes in content and feedback from participants, management and effectiveness results.
Job Requirements: 3-5 years instructional design experience.
3-5 years experience in performance consulting 2-3 years facilitation experience in large group corporate settings.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong organizational and skills.
* Proficient user of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, ExcelEducational Requirements: BA or BS required
