Telecommunication Support Specialist-SS7 Job in Naperville, Illinois US
Telecommunications Support Specialist-SS7 We are seeking a Technical Support Specialist for this telecommunications vendor's customer support group based in western suburbs of Chicago.
You will be responsible for supporting Windows Server based telecommunication products focused on QoS, Inter-Carrier Billing, Fraud, Network troubleshooting, Network Surveillance and Network Optimization for both Wireless and Wireline providers.
You will support major Tier I, II and III Telcom accounts providing network surveillance and network monitoring of their Voice and Data networks.
This is a customer support group focused on a pro-active approach to customer service and support.We are looking for a unique combination of skills including: SS7, VOIP and ATM Network experience Windows Servers and Hardware experience on Storage Drives and RAID Knowledge of Databases including: SQL Server or Oracle a plus Network monitoring or NOC experience with both Data and Voice.
Skills and Qualifications: Signaling System 7 (SS7) is a set of telephony signaling protocols which are used to set up most of the world's public switched telephone network telephone calls Network Surveillance (QoS) Quality of Service comprises requirements on all the aspects of a connection, such as service response time, loss, signal-to-noise ratio, cross-talk, echo, interrupts, frequency response, loudness levels, etc. Any basic understanding of databases such as Oracle or SQL Server would be a definite asset.
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in LAN/WAN and Network Operating Systems (including routers, hubs and servers); Operating Systems (Windows XP Pro, 2003/8 Server and Client) and to troubleshoot TCP/IP connectivity.
You will need an understanding of Microsoft Application programs such as EXCEL, ACCESS and OUTLOOK to provide support ranging from beginning to advanced.
Requires strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
