Telecommunication Engineer Job in Albuquerque 87105, New Mexico US
TEKsystems has an opening in Albuquerque, NM for a Telecommunications Engineer.
Candidate is responsible for the maintenance and daily operations related to enterprise-wide PBX systems and associated peripherals.
Evaluates and recommends changes to current and future telecommunications requirements in order to meet organizational needs.
Participates in the planning, installation, operation and maintenance of enterprise-wide telecommunications solutions.
Candidate will also assist IT operations management team in the determination of future strategy and plans for telecommunications infrastructure within the company.
The Telecommunication Engineer will assist IT management with technical architecture related to planning, installation, operation and maintenance of all telecommunication devices, systems and software that support mission critical functions.
The Telecommunication Engineer works closely with both equipment vendors and service providers to ensure timely and successful deployment of new services as well as acting as the main point of contact for resolution of outages and service disruptions.
Candidate should posses hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience directly related to Avaya telecommunication systems.
Ability to read and understand technical manuals; procedural documentation, and OEM guides, write internal technical documentation; effectively delivery training and mentoring other telecommunication staff; lead collaborative research efforts in telecommunication issues and products as required.
Ability to be a team player and work well with employees at all levels; ability to work independently.
Minimum Experience: 4 years of telecommunications related experience,and experience using a variety of PBX systems (Nortel, Fujitsu, etc.), and experience with PC operating systems including Windows and Linux/Unix.
This is a contract to hire position in Albuquerque, NM with all work performed on site.
All viable candidates must pass a drug test and background investigation.
In addition, all candidates must be able to obtain a security clearance.
