Technical Specialist Job in Newark 07101, New Jersey US
Provides application user support and problem resolution with their PCs including hardware and software installations.
Participates in the design testing, implementation and maintenance and control of Distributed Computing systems.
Assists in Distributed Computing troubleshooting and diagnostics of network problems and malfunctions.
Assists in the development and implementation of solutions for file servers, bridges, gateways and fax servers.
Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

Description: The individual is part of the Annuity Hedging team of Prudential Annuities, which is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of Prudential's variable annuity hedging programs.
This position is specifically responsible for the end-to-end technology support that enables the automation of the daily, weekly, and monthly hedging/financial risk management processes.
The successful candidate will also lead efforts to enhance the efficiency of the technology stack supporting the hedging team.
The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring necessary IT controls are in place.
This includes creating and maintaining documentation, as well as controls around BAU procedures, audit reviews, and business continuation planning.
The candidate will work under the supervision of the Vice President, Information Systems.
Requirements: · Demonstrated knowledge and experience in supporting enterprise systems and applications.
· Strong problem solving skills.
· Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
· Knowledge of Object Oriented principals preferred.
· Knowledge of Python a plus.
· Knowledge of or experience with financial concepts plus Other Comments: This position requires an individual with strong analytical, programming, problem solving, organizational, and technical writing skills.
Must be able to work on new projects with minimal guidance.
Must process the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
