Technical Specialist Job in New York, New York US
Our client is in need of a Technical Specialist to analyze requirement specifications, build application prototypes, perform high level system design, develop applications and lead/collaborate with technical teams to implement a next generation Street Cut Management and Permitting System.
The new web-based, workflow-enabled system will integrate permits and other work entities with standard GIS map, and will replace a legacy mainframe-based permitting system.The consultant will need a strong technical background and hands-on experience in moderate-tolarge scale system development, application architecture and integration.
In-depth expertise in Microsoft development technologies is a must; additional working knowledge in open source technologies is preferred.
Qualifications: Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not beconsidered.
BA/BS Degree or equivalent, in a technology related field or other degree preferred.
6-8 years experience in designing, developing and specifying mission critical business applications, at least 3 of which is in a web/client-server environment.
Experience in all phases of SDLC and standard SDLC methodologies such as Waterfall, RUP, Agile to deliver client solutions.
Experience drafting systems requirements and design documentation.
Hands-on technical experience in software or systems development, testing anddeployment.
Having worked with projects involving Microsoft.NET and SQL Server technologies for web and desktop application development.
8 years of total experience in object oriented business application design anddevelopment.
5+ years of solid .NET development using C#.
NET, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, WPF, WCF, Visual Studio 2005/2008.
5+ years of relation database design, normalization, T-SQL, stored procedures, SQL Server 2000/2005/2008, DTS/SSIS packages, data modeling tools (ERwin/ERStudio).
3+ years of SQL Reporting Services (or Crystal Reports), Ad-hoc reporting, Dashboards.
5+ years of exposure in using configuration management, version control, testing tools.
Experience in UML/Rational tools or other design tools.
Very strong written, oral and presentation skills needed to have productive communications with project team, stakeholders, and customers.
Must be a self-starter, motivated, and bring a strong business and technical perspective to all assignments.
Ability to work on multiple projects as team lead or team member/developer.
Exhibit strong interpersonal skills.
Experience using Microsoft Office Applications.
Desirable Experience/Skills: Microsoft Certified Professional (MCSD/MCAD/MCTS/MCPD)Technically proficient in more than one language and platform.
