Technical Leader, SQL Server Job in Columbia 21046, Maryland US
The Technical Leader is responsible for the detailed design and development of multi-terabyte operational marketing databases that integrate our client's data with demographic data for prospects and consumers.
Our databases typically house over a hundred million individuals and billions of transactions.
Once hired, the qualified candidate will be immersed in the development and maintenance of database marketing solutions to meet client business objectives.
The Technical Leader will have an opportunity to work with a cross-disciplinary team across various divisions of Database Services.
Position Responsibilities: · Building and maintaining SQL procedures and ETL processesAssisting in requirements gathering and data analysis as neededProviding detailed solution designEstimating work effort and assisting the Project Manager with task planning and LOE (level of effort) estimates Reviewing work product of others for compliance with development standardsProviding guidance and mentoring in database marketing development best practices Writing technical documentation.
Other duties as assigned Position Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Computer Science or related IT field or relevant professional experienceExceptional understanding of SQLMore than Seven years of continual experience with Microsoft SQL ServerSignificant experience (ie 5 years minimum) with at least one leading ETL tool, such as Informatica, Ab Initio, Oracle Warehouse Builder or SQL Server SSISStrong knowledge of software engineering and development methodologies, techniques, and tools, including Configuration Management (CVS), Issue Tracking (TeamTrack; Jira), and the Software Development Lifecycle (waterfall; agile)Significant experience as a team lead 3 years experience as a technical leader of a team of 3-5 technical staff Significant experience designing and implementing large databases and data warehouses utilizing both relational and dimensional design concepts2 TB database sizeWorking knowledge of at least one BI tool, such as Cognos, Business Objects or Microstrategy is considered a strong plusExperience with a campaign tool, such as Alterian, is considered a strong plusExperience with CDI (Customer Data Integration) preferred Experience in database marketing preferredTo apply online, please click on the following link for immediate consideration: https://www.
