Job Description: As a member of the Performance Excellence team, the Technical Support Specialist will perform quality assurance tasks in support of machining and mechanical inspections which include Zeiss CMM programming, data analysis, and drawing interpretations.

Will be required to work from CAD models, limited dimension and developmental drawings, and interpret GD&T drawings.

This position is responsible for recognizing form and probing errors, as well as alignment and CMM program errors.

Utilizes computer skills and statistics for development of inspection programs.

Will assist Inspectors to determine product quality.

May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Minimmum of 8 years related experience Familiar with CMM and mechanical Inspection techniques for all types of machine parts.

Experience in programming a Zeiss CMM using Calypso software and be able to make translation and rotation decisions.

Experience interpreting and using measurement equipment, including but not limited to surface plate set up, optical comparator, thread gaging, gage blocks Sine plate, height gage, calipers, and micrometer.

Experience working to ISO9000 standards Ability to read and interpret standards, GD&T drawings and specifications and perform analysis, verification, or measurements to ensure compliance Highly professional demeanor and demonstrated ability to multitask Demonstrated superior oral and written communication skills Exhibits interpersonal skills and high level of customer service Demonstrated problem solving skills Excellent ability to work in a team environment Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and demanding work environment Must be able to interact professionally with Inspectors, Machinists, Engineers, and all levels of management, both in person and by telephone Proven ability to work accurately and meet deadlines, with minimal supervision Required Education (including Major): High School or equivalent .

Other Requirements: Ability to obtain Secret clearance.

Ability to work in industrial environment and able to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted.

The ability to distinguish color is necessary.

The majority of the work is performed in a sitting position.

May occasionally perform duties in a standing position.

Occasional bending, lifting and climbing may be required.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Previous Machinist or Quality Inspector experience is highly desired.
