Tax Analyst Job in Newark 07102, New Jersey US
Prudential Financial is seeking a motivated individual to join the Tax Department located Newark, NJ. The position requires a team player that is highly organized, responsive, extremely flexible and has the ability to handle multiple projects while producing accurate and timely results.The primary responsibilities of the position will include US Federal and state income taxation and financial reporting of taxesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: GAAP financial reporting and analysis of taxes Partnering with Business Units to implement and design tax planning strategies and transactions Preparation and review of Federal, State and Local Tax Compliance Coordination of FAS 123R tax adjustments Recommendations of improvements to financial reporting and compliance processes Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, economics or other related business disciplines requiredCPA and/or Masters degree in tax or accounting a plusCorporate Tax experience (3-4 years), financial services sector is preferred with life insurance expertise a plusStrong oral and written communication skillsExcellent organizational/analytical skills requiredProven leadership track record strongly desiredSolid computer skills - proficient in Lotus Notes, standard Microsoft applications and CorpTax Compliance software a plus Additional Knowledge/Skills: Strong GAAP accounting for taxes of insurance companies a plusUnderstanding of financial service companies including insurance, investments, and asset management a plusStrong work ethic and able to partner in a team-oriented environmentOrganized and flexible - ability to manage multiple projects/assignments, while meeting deadlinesOther comments: Overtime will be required, especially during peak periodsOutside candidates are being consideredAny applicant selected for this position will be required to submit to an extensive background screening and a credit check.
