This position also provides technical support to customers.

* Using engineering knowledge, customer standards, and State and Federal regulations to design Transit Systems, Wayside Systems and Grade Crossing Warning Systems.

The designs require evaluation of preliminary engineering and customer requirements to perform hardware designs and application software designB * Consults with members of the engineering team regarding customers specific issues, scope of design, specific requirements and requests and deadlinesC * Develops test procedures and test plansD *Understands and explicitly follows the companys design, drawing, application software version, firmware version and hardware version control proceduresE *Facilitates, understands and complies with the requirements of the Detail Assistant Software toolF *Consults with customers concerning specific issues, scope of design, specific requirements and requests and deadlinesG Provides technical support to the customer during commissioning of designH Provides complete software package for validation and verificationI Performs simulation (verification) of Wayside Train Control System software using tools specific to the type of equipment to be usedJ Performs factory and field testing (validation) of Wayside Train Control System software; install software per hardware plans; test operation of software, record and analyze results; and provide feedback as requiredK Develops and maintains design formats and calculation toolsL Checks CADD work of engineering techniciansM Obtains information from field forces due to conflicting information on preliminary engineering or existing circuitsN Fulfills special requests from customers such as special distributions, providing designer sketches, and other additional information as requestedO Attends Company and industry-related meetings, as requiredP Adheres to company quality proceduresQ Establishes individual goals which are aligned with the Company's business strategies and objectivesR Functions as a contributing member of the department's team and other teams, as assigned.

BASIC EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTSA.

Four year electrical engineering, technical degree or equivalentB Two or more years of engineering or industry experience.

Familiarity with Transit and Safetran parts.
