Systems Engineer Job in Littleton 01460, Massachusetts US
This position is a combination of Linux/UNIX Systems Administration and Windows Administration including solutions development tasks in an Internet-centric, multi-client production environment.
The systems engineer performs systems administration for corporate and client servers, and is an important member of a team that designs and develops solutions to meet corporate and client needs.
This includes problem identification and remediation, performance tuning, security analysis, server implementations and upgrades, and tools development using scripting in high-level languages such as Perl or Ruby.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience providing system administration in Unix and Windows.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects are a must.
Relevant experience in many of these items is required: · Ubuntu/Debian Linux · RedHat/CentOS Linux · Internet Application protocols (HTTP, SMTP, FTP, SIP, NTP DNS, etc) · Infrastructure Services (Apache, IIS, Lighttpd, Active Directory, Postfix, BIND, etc) · Application servers (JBoss, Tomcat, .
NET, etc) · Databases (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server) · Virtualization (VMWare, XenServer, KVM) · Cloud Computing · Networking skills (routing, load balancing, etc) · Storage Infrastructure (Fiber Channel, iSCSI, NFS) · Security Tools (AV products, nessus, nmap, URLScan, host based firewalls, etc) · Monitoring technologies (SNMP, WBEM/WMI, Nagios, etc) · High-availability and clustering
