We are working with our client, a federal IT contractor, to identify talent for the position of Systems Engineers II. This position will work directly with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in Rockville, MD, a Best Place to Work in the Federal Government.
Duties and Responsibilities: · Disaster Recovery (DR) technical architecture and design development · Cloud-based computing· Requirements Management· Collection, management, evaluation, and documentation of technical and user data and metrics of applications and systems· Mapping and documenting applications and systems to specific hardware and software components· Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) reference model specifications of the Technical Reference Model (TRM) for mapping applications and systems hosted within a data center to the TRM Service Standards· Federal Segment Architecture Methodology (FSAM) construct· Technical architecture and detailed designing that leverages replication, backup and recovery, and IT management technologies in a mixed physical and virtual environment· Baseline measurements on IT software assets and utilization, IT hardware assets and utilization, and IT communications assets and utilization· Application-to-Server/Mainframe mapping · Application-to-Database/Platform mapping · Application Dependency mapping· Application Security requirements· Applications Usage & SLAs· Define platform connectivity including how the platforms will be connected in a redundant DR environment· Self-directed and team-oriented with the ability to understand the needs of the users and management to deliver all requirements necessary to make the project successful RequirementsBachelors Degree Science, Engineering, ComputersFive (5) years professional Information Technology (IT) experienceMS Office SuiteMS SharePointMust possess at least a Public Trust Clearance (or be able to obtain) This position offers a competitive compensation package as well as full benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, life insurance).
