The successful candidate will be handling the database design, understanding how the system is structured technically as well as interfacing with the business.

They are expected to have client interaction and be able to sell ideas and communicate with the business the capabilities of the system, changes that have been made or that need to occurr.

Strong communication skills are needed to convey this information internally and externally.

MUST HAVE: Excellent analytical skills.

Minimum of 8+ years of IT work experience focused in software design with emphasis on RUP and UML. 5+ years experience or greater with a background in data warehousing and business intelligence.

Must have experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.

Knowledge and Experience:
Understands the requirements gathering methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle.


Understands a variety of architecture standards and apply them in their design work.


Hands-on experience with Rational Unified Process (RUP) including use cases and UML.
Proven proficiency in understanding and writing complex SQL.
Must be able to design multiple systems integration efforts.


Must be able to design using multiple data access and storage mechanisms.


Must be proficient in designing distributed client/server or mainframe applications.

Develops detailed system requirements, specifications and documents, including but not limited to Source to Target Mapping, Business Process Rules, Data Quality Assessment and Data Profiling (e.

g., detailed enough so that programs may be written or modified.

Provide consultative services through all phases of the System Development Life Cycle and support the effectiveness, quality and timeliness of application design decisions.


Conducts Data Quality Assessments, prepares Data Profiles and verifies testing strategy, plans and scripts at the system level.


Leads and organizes complex JAD sessions to gather requirements.
