Position Summary: This position is responsible for the overall configuration of the E911 network / system design for market deployments and customer support phases.

The work includes high-level technical network designs, systems testing, and resolving issues associated with individual site and/or system engineering / operational problems that are not readily resolved by the T&C Engineers or the Deployment Staff.

Additionally, this position is responsible for developing MoPs for the testing and implementation of software releases and customer presentations explaining the system requirements and functionality.

Essential Functions: 1 Deployment of Andrew products per Customer and Andrew guidelines.

Includes installation of software & customer data, integration of customer equipment, and testing and commissioning.

Some work will be on Customer premises and some travel is required.

2 Consult with Internal Product Development, Product Line Management, and/or Customer on preliminary documentation and requirements to design and deploy the system configuration that meets customer needs.

This includes the generation of Methods Of Procedures which outline the step-by-step process for customer approval prior to work commencing.

3 Provide escalation support to T&C Engineering, Program Management and CTS (Customer Technical Support).

This includes troubleshooting with the customer and CTS, opening and updating tickets, and managing customer bridges.

4 Develop or follow defined software installation and test procedures.

Interact with Business Unit as appropriate to assist in design specifications relative to software installation.

5 Provide necessary interaction and self-management throughout projects and post-deployment support.

6 Responsible for all administrative aspects of travel from booking flights, rental cars, hotel & reimbursement, validation of adequate and correct project materials for each project assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: EDUCATION · Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree.

(Masters Degree in Engineering is a plus) TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE· 2+ years of practical experience in systems design, support, applications or networking.

(Some system design experience is preferred.

) · Understanding of basic cellular theory and technologies including GSM and UMTS networks.

(Knowledge of mobile location technologies including E-911 is preferred.

) · Unix/Solaris System Administration preferred (SCE certification a plus) · Experience in Cisco Hardware design and deployment (CCNA Certification a plus) · Ability to lead troubleshooting in the field for issues during the installation and commissioning process.

This would require working-level networking and application knowledge.

(A very good knowledge of Sun systems is preferred.

) · Ability to perform some minor hardware installation tasks, including small systems and cabling.

· Practical knowledge of VPN's, both site to site and client server is preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS· Expertise in basic technical writing, document editing, and ability to use Microsoft Visio for basic network diagrams.

· Capability to create presentations for customer training or planning purposes.

· Ability to travel for short periods of time domestically and internationally.

· Willingness to work odd schedules and durations based on customer and site availability.

· Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written) with daily reporting to Manager and Project Lead.

· Willingness to take accountability for project expenses and customer satisfaction.

· Ability to act as mentor to new staff or to the customer.

· Able to adapt to change and accept new challenges, goals, improvement projects and roles.
