Systems Engineer / AdminDes Moines, IAContract PositionNo Corp 2 Corp allowedPlease forward resumes to tcahill [at] comsys [dot] com This position is for CICS infrastructure systems engineer (not a mainframe applications programer) and will be key in developing the long term implementation plan of the technology infrastructure roadmap for CICS platforms.The candidate needs to have experience in IBM zOS mainframe hardware/software infrastrature internal set up including sysolex and IODF or HCD experience.
-This position is not a mainframe systems programer that supported applications, a high level of mainframe-The contractor needs to have experience in the CICS internal setup and configurations.
-The canidate need to be able to evaluate the current environmnebts and make reccomendations to change.
-The goal of this effort is to simplify our CICS environments by developing actionable plans to execute our go forward strategy, promote standardization and simplification.
-The candidate would bring leading industry best practices and have professional verbal and written communication skillsThe contractor would serves as an expert in hardware/software systems engineering.
-Undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge.
-Makes well-thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous hardware/software systems engineering issues.
-Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
-Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements the most complex hardware/software components, tools, and utilities.
Establishes and communicates common goal and direction for team.
-Acts as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff.
-Monitors project schedules and costs.
-This person may be assigned to mainframe CICS Infrastructure team and or projects- as required.
Behavior Characteristics: Eight years of technical software and hardware analysis, programming and installation.
Three years of project management experience is preferred.
