Aesculap, Inc., has an excellent opportunity for an Associate Surgical Sales Representative within the Dallas, TX .

(Must be open to relocation)PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for contributing to the company's strategic objectives of revenue growth, market leadership and quality customer service through the sale of Aesculap products to assigned accounts.

SPECIFIC DUTIES: * Calls on customer accounts as assigned by Senior Sales Representative providing technical, marketing and administrative product information and demonstrations; quotes appropriate customer prices.

* Schedules, picks up and delivers repair orders for assigned accounts.

* Responsible for product installations and in-services.

* Responds to customer needs, requirements and problems in accordance with company policy seeking direction from Senior Sales Representative as needed.

* Remains informed of new products and other general information of interest to customers.

* Develops relationships with surgeons and other appropriate personnel within assigned accounts.

* Maintains account records and report activities and submits as required by the Company.


Manage and submit sales expenses in accordance with budget and company policy.

* Acts as liaison between customer and Marketing, Customer Service, and Credit Departments at Aesculap.

* Monitors and gathers information on competitor activity.

* Completes special projects as assigned.JOB LEVEL: Entry level.

Applies fundamental sales knowledge requirements with Aesculap's sales philosophy to assist in product sales.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: * BA/BS in business/marketing or biological/physiological sciences.

* One to two years previous sales experience, preferably in the medical industry.

* Account management skills, which include problem-solving and customer relations.

* Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: * Must be able to lift and carry literature bag (minimum 15 lbs.) and Sample Instrument Kit (minimum 20 lbs.) when calling on customers.

Additional weight may be added at employee's discretion.

* Telephone communication is required for approximately one hour per day (including time on car phone).

A home computer can be helpful, but is not provided or required.

* Frequent automobile travel - approximately two hours of driving per day (average) and approximately 500 miles per week.

* This position requires the handling of instruments that may have been contaminated by blood or other bodily fluids.

In compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Aesculap will provide a safe working environment for all employees.

SUPERVISION: Receives basic instruction on routine sales calls, thorough instruction on new accounts.

Maintains communication with Regional Sales Manager and Senior Sales Representative.

Works under moderate supervision.

EQUIPMENT USED IN POSITION: Telephone, personal computer with associated software, fax machine, sales samples and surgical equipment, automobile.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Light Work - Position involves sitting, standing, and or walking.

Will spend 70% of time sitting (including driving and meeting time) and the rest on foot.
