Description: We currently have a position open for a Strategic Communications Consultant in our Chicago, IL office.

A Strategic Communications Consultant would be responsible for recommending and delivering high quality communication solutions to clients and prospects as well as maintaining a positive client relationships.

We are looking for an individual who has outstanding client service skills, has worked in a retirement plan environment and has at least six years of experience working on various types of marketing campaigns.

• Support own book of business for all plan communication needs, through all stages of the plan relationship from sales presentation, through conversions and ongoing plan relationship• Own the client communications relationship, proactively soliciting client feedback and identifying needs• Understand sponsors’ plan and benefit objectives, analyze client demographics, participant profile, participant segmentation, plan design, previous communication successes and failures, and client industry information • Monitor internal and external research about participant needs, motivators, response to media, new communication channels• Develop effective annual communication strategy to meet needs of diverse employee segments within plan, including solutions that draw from all available media, channels• Monitor and report on communications effectiveness for clients• Analyzing our client’s needs, by reviewing data and managing all deliverables• Develop solutions brief and deliver to Participant Communications Development team .

Work collaboratively with the team to agree to schedules, provide input on solutions and manage schedules• Conduct key client meetings (enrollment, conversions, business planning) and manage the scheduling of all client meetings • Work with the Sales team to present communications offering in sales presentations, develop RFP communications positioning, and support sales initiatives• Work with the Relationship Management team - planning and informing them of communication initiatives, status, alerting them to client issues etc.,• Provide feedback to Participant Communications Development team of client requests for new communication products and services• Develop and deliver year end communications report for clients• Maintain strong relationships with clients (and advisors) and consulting with them, if necessary• Manage the implementation communications calendar and budget throughout the yearQualifications: • At least six years of benefit, retirement or financial services marketing communications• Strong industry and product knowledge, and a good understanding of ERISA• A Bachelor’s degree in advertising communications, marketing or equivalent• Hold NASD Series 6, 63, 65 licenses• Demonstrated communications, sales presentation and interpersonal skills• Solid experience in communications planning and strategy• Experience and track record in delivering quality client service• Ability to work within tight deadlines• Must have organization and project management skills• Approximately 25% travel time is required.
