Statutory Projection Manager Job SummaryManage the projection of statutory assets and income for the domestic investment portfolio.
Functional Responsibilities
Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of monthly Statutory asset projections, which is used by the Financial Management Group in projecting Risk Based Capital exposure for the enterprise.
Interact on regular basis with various groups in the Investment Department to coordinate and analyze required inputs for the projection.
Communicate and attribute projection results to senior management in the Financial Management Group, including variance analysis, historic trending, and explanation of key drivers.
Develop the projection of Net Investment Income on Statutory Basis
Interact frequently with asset sectors leads to reconcile sector projection from GAAP to Statutory basis.
Prepare, analyze, and communicate projection results to management in the US Business and Corporate.
Independently manage the Asset and Net Investment Income processes with minimal management intervention.
Lead initiatives to implement process enhancements to improve timeliness and quality of the projection submissions, and coordinate its execution with IT management.
Conduct research from secondary sources and/or leverage available resources in the Investment Department to gain insight into changes in the investment environment.

Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written.
Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask and prioritize competing projects.
Independently motivated, with desire and capacity to lead projects spanning various disciplines.
Strong financial analytical and modeling skills, with solid knowledge of accounting concepts; insurance industry experience preferred.
Prior experience with Statutory and/or Risk Based Capital reporting and projection is strongly preferred.
Good knowledge of financial systems; with ability to harvest information from multiple sources, and to compile databases and formulate spreadsheets.
5+ years of experience in a public or private company environment in an accounting or finance role; insurance industry experience is highly preferred
Solid expertise in MS Excel (V-lookups, Formulas, Macro's and Pivot tables) is required.In connection with this open position, MetLife will only consider job applicants who are legally authorized to work in the United States without an employer-sponsored petition for a visa, such as an H-1B visa.
